Hey gang!
We have some news about the upcoming Home by Dark Compendium!
First off, the initial writing has been completed! The draft has been passed onto our intrepid editor and is now being reviewed. This means that art and layout have now begun, which is always exciting to see come together. We’re working as hard as we can to bring this book together and out into the world!
Second, the book won’t be called the Home by Dark Compendium any more. With just the playsets alone, this book is huge. It is over twice the size of the original Home by Dark book. We debated splitting it into two volumes, but ultimately we decided to keep it together as one book.
This means that we won’t have any essays in this book. There’s just no room. Don’t worry though. We’ll be finding a place for them in the near future!
Without the essays, it really didn’t feel like a compendium anymore. It’s a very large playset book. Ironically, that was the original pitch for the this book. It all comes back around! Tentatively, we’re calling this book Home by Dark: Misfit Tales.
Finally, it’s time to talk about the Kickstarter! We originally planned to launch the Kickstarter in the October/November time range, but we missed our window. This meant we had to wait until after the Holidays to consider another window, but we couldn’t lock down until that pesky first draft was completed.
Now that we’re past that milestone, we can confidently say that we’ll be launching the Kickstarter in the mid-March to mid-April time range. We’re preparing the art and content for the Kickstarter now and should have a more specific announcement in the next few weeks!
